Katie Welch Len is the founder and president of Newsworthy Communications, a Minnesota-based public relations and influencer marketing agency specializing in earned media, media relations, influencer partnerships, spokesperson development, event curation and strategic communications.
For nearly 30 years, Katie has helped businesses, nonprofits, retailers, events, festivals and consumer brands earn meaningful media attention, build credibility and connect with their target audiences through compelling storytelling. Her expertise spans earned media strategy, influencer marketing, brand positioning, media training, event publicity, key message development and executive visibility.
As a creative public relations professional and trusted communications strategist, Katie has built a reputation for securing high-impact local and national media coverage that drives awareness and business growth. She works closely with executives, entrepreneurs, physicians, nonprofit leaders and brand spokespeople to develop clear messaging, navigate media opportunities and confidently represent their organizations in interviews and public appearances.
Katie is particularly known for her expertise in event and festival publicity, helping launch and elevate some of Minnesota’s most recognized destinations, attractions and community events. From grand openings and major retail developments to seasonal attractions, festivals and nonprofit fundraisers, she has consistently transformed local stories into regional and national media coverage.

Prior to founding Newsworthy Communications in 2002, Katie held leadership roles at some of the region’s most respected communications firms, including establishing and managing the media relations division at Colle & McVoy Marketing Communications and serving as a Senior Account Executive at Padilla. Her entrepreneurial vision and passion for storytelling led her to launch Newsworthy Communications, which has since become one of Minnesota’s most respected boutique public relations agencies.
